About the Association

The Bali Nyonga Cultural Association (BCA) Germany is the cultural and community arm of the Bali Nyonga people living in Germany. Its roots go back to the formation of the Bali Nyonga Cultural Union (BANCU), the first formal effort by members of the Bali diaspora to preserve their heritage abroad.

BANCU was registered in 1996 in Darmstadt, under the leadership of Ba Dr. Fosam Richard (Ba Tutuwan) and Ba Clarence Ndangam, who served as the official representatives. BANCU provided a strong foundation for unity and cultural preservation among the early Bali Nyonga settlers in Germany, promoting community bonding and cultural identity at a time when such structures were rare in the diaspora.

As the community grew and evolved, so did the vision. The desire to build a more inclusive, dynamic, and forward-looking structure led to the transition from BANCU to what is now known as the Bali Nyonga Cultural Association (BCA). This new chapter aimed to broaden participation, especially among younger generations, and strengthen cultural ties through more organized events, outreach initiatives, and national conventions.
